The Abundant Table

Our Interfaith Labor Day Harvest at the Abundant Table Farm on Monday generated s spirit of genuine neighborliness, service and celebration.  Over 220 people were in attendance.  See this link to the Ventura County Star for some great photos of the day.  http://www.vcstar.com/picture-gallery/life/2016/09/05/interfaith-harvest-photos/89892220/

Food Share estimates that we harvested and donated nearly 1,000 pounds of fresh, nutritious produce that will make its way to food pantries throughout the county and then to the people who most need it.

The Abundant Table Farmers were also deeply grateful for the pumpkin moving, weeding and extra harvesting we were able to do for their non-profit farm.   We thank the Abundant Table for planting and growing the crops we harvested for Food Share and we also express our thanks to McGrath Family Farms, a pioneer of the organic movement in Camarillo and home to The Abundant Table.

Several people wanted more information about many of the organizations and programs that were mentioned and represented at the Labor Day Harvest.  We hope the below links will help each of you continue to be involved in service, supporting interfaith connections, sustainable farming and eating, farm worker justice, and good entertainment (thank you Guys in Ties!)

The Abundant Table is a five acre, non-profit faith based farm organization that implements fair labor and organic practices to growfood for local schools and a dynamic CSA (community supported agriculture) program. The CSA directly supports the farm and nutrition education programs held in the fields and in public schools.  To join the CSA program and receive a weekly or bi-weekly share of the harvest, click here.
